2010 Convention Highlights
Based on the thoughts and feedback from our Convention attendees and exhibitor representatives, we are pleased to highlight the following for the 2010 NASSP Convention in Phoenix:
Breaking Ranks School Showcase. The 2009 Showcase was deemed a success and served to set a positive tone for the Convention. And so again in 2010, NASSP will bring teams from high-achieving middle level and high schools to discuss what they have done—and how—to address today's leading issues in our schools. School teams will continue to be strongly encouraged to register for the Convention.
The NASSP Exposition remains a TWO-DAY show, Friday and Saturday only. The non-compete times are 9:30-11:00 a.m. on Friday morning and 10:00-11:00 a.m. on Saturday morning. There will be no official non-compete time during the afternoon. However, you must be present to win during the Grand Prize drawing on Saturday afternoon.
Festive Opening Reception in the Exhibit Hall on Thursday, 5:00-7:00 p.m. This reception will be held again in 2010 to welcome Convention attendees and officially launch the 2010 NASSP Exposition.
CHANGE! The Second General Session on Saturday moves back to the morning, 8:30-10:00 a.m. Held during the afternoon in 2009, this Second General Session will move back to Saturday morning, serving as a "kick-off" to the day's programming.
Luncheon Format for the Closing General Session on Sunday remains. Participation in the Closing General Session Luncheon will be included in an individual's Convention registration fee (a reservation will be requested). All traditions of Sunday's Closing General Session remain the same, including a keynote presentation. The NASSP Convention will conclude at the close of the luncheon on Sunday afternoon at 2:00 p.m.
