315. What Administrators and Teachers Must Do to Eliminate the Achievement Gap

Although the achievement gap between minorities and whites decreased tremendously between 1970 and 1988, since then the gap has widened at an alarming rate. Participants will learn what research and experience has taught us about how schools can address this problem by increasing minority achievement. The presenter will also share information about state and local school districts that have been successful at educating poor and minority students. Participants will leave the session with proven facts and strategies that will enable them to improve the performance of all students, especially minorities.
