L-1. High School Leaders LuncheonLeadership for Reform
Category: Leadership/Governance
Time: Monday, February 24, 11:30am-1:00pm
Room: Marriott Halls 1 & 2
Principals have always run a highly visible public business with inordinate interaction with the owners according to Bill Bosher, Executive Director, Commonwealth Educational Policy Institute. We request that schools be open but secure, accountable but flexible, and structured but accommodating. Policy makers, universities, and funding entities are now asking about what it takes to lead a school. How are educational leaders prepared and developed? What are their working conditions, and how should they be rewarded? Principals are in great demand…and their jobs are demanding! Sprinting hard for 180 days will no longer be enough. Leadership for Reform requires results—student achievement! So, how will we keep you on the farm?
