University personnel provide information about the portfolio evaluation process by comparing the advantages and disadvantages of issues of content, trust, time management, and validity at the university level and extrapolating these issues to the public school level. By reviewing the problems and benefits of portfolio evaluation, school administrators can make a professional judgment as to the use or non-use of portfolios for teaching evaluation or hiring.
