Dissatisfaction with traditional models of administrator evaluation led the Vancouver school district to create the Professional Growth Model of Supervision and Evaluation. Focused on “growth” and only by exception on “evaluation,” this model fosters improved administrator performance while retaining the important element of accountability. Examine which elements of the model could be of value for you in your work as a school-based administrator or district superintendent.
