247. Alternative Education: More Than a Change of Placement
Category: Leadership/Governance
Time: Sunday, March 11, 1:30pm-3:00pm
Room: Rooms 23-25
Hosted by the Maryland Association of Secondary School Principals The presentation will focus on the classroom becoming an extension and manifestation of the principal’s vision, direction, and focus. The presentation will highlight our integrated curriculum, interdisciplinary instruction, and the redemptive value of service learning as we explore experiential learning opportunities in order to discover how one “makes a profession from one’s passion.” Thus, the presentation will illustrate the necessary continuity of care that will allow every potential out-of-school youth to enjoy the academic, vocational, and therapeutic benefits stemming from a truly alternative educational environment.
