This presentation features an integrated, step-by-step writing program that raises test scores and strengthens critical reading skills. Linked directly to the national and state standards, it targets schools that have scored low on assessment. Included are explicit instructional strategies to help students transition from oral language to paragraphs and essays. The systematic 7–12 plan incorporates classroom management techniques for working with students of different abilities and cultures. We will discuss sample prompts and rubrics for assessment and provide a follow-up plan for staff development in your school or district.
