237. The Skillful Leader: Confronting Mediocre Teaching
Category: Leadership/Governance
Time: Sunday, March 11, 11:00am-12:30pm
Room: Room 41
Participants will be introduced to a new framework for confronting mediocrity in teaching. Developed by Robert G. Fraser, Alexander D. Platt, Caroline Tripp, and Wayne Ogden, early work was presented at the Boston 1997 AASPA Conference, the 1998 and 1999 fall conferences of the Vermont Principals’ Association, the March 2000 Massachusetts Secondary Schools Administrators Association workshop “When Just OK Is Not OK,” and at the 2000 AASA Convention in San Francisco. The framework gives leaders tools to confront mediocrity at both the institutional and the individual case levels. Participants will learn about the different components of the framework.
