
233. IDEA and NASSP: What Do Experienced Principals Think?

In 1999, NASSP members participated in a focus group to clarify the needs of secondary school principals in addressing challenging areas of special education and IDEA ‘97. This session will focus on the major issues identified: recruitment, assessment and evaluation; IEPs; behavior and discipline. Participants will also learn about the new Principal in Residence Program at NASSP and NASSP’s involvement in the ILIAD Partnership (IDEA Local Implementation by Local Administrators) that is funded by the U.S. Department of Education.
