221. Behavior Standards: Which Come First—the Community’s or the School’s?

Category: School Environment
Time: Sunday, March 11, 11:00am-12:30pm
Room: Rooms 2-5

Hosted by the School Administrators of Iowa
Learn how to encourage your community to assist you with creating policies and enforcement. Your community wants to help return safety and respect to its school. Selecting the correct support people will make your discipline easier and enforcement nondiscriminatory. If the community sets the standard, you only have to enforce the rule and let others interpret the intent. Attendance and zero tolerance for violence are two nonacademic areas the public wants to see improved, and they are willing to provide the tools.
