Category: Organization & Time
Time: Sunday, March 11, 9:00am-10:30am
Room: Room 38
New Frontier is a unique school-within-a-school program for at-risk ninth and tenth graders. The goals for New Frontier are to significantly reduce the failure, absenteeism, and behavioral-referral rates. Drop out rates have been reduced through team teaching, technology and project-based learning, career exploration, and social skills development. The process of implementing an alternative program for 50 students in a suburban high school of 2,000 students in Omaha, Nebraska, will be explained. If you are a high school educator, you will not want to miss this presentation.
