105. Survival Skills for the Principalship—Mastering the New Three Rs: Resiliency, Renewal, and Reflection

Category: Leadership/Governance
Time: Saturday, March 10, 11:00am-12:30pm
Room: 8-10

Principals in the 21st Century must master a new level of survival skills—the new three Rs of the principalship: resiliency, renewal, and reflection. As the work load increases, technology advances, and the challenges multiply, the complexity of the principalship increases and the pace of the job escalates out of control. Principals, to provide school leadership, vision, direction, and focus, will need to avoid burnout and learn to balance their professional and personal lives using the new three Rs. Principals will leave this workshop with dozens of strategies and skills that will enable them to survive the challenges of unrelenting change, never-ending school reform, and high-stakes accountability.
