104. Responding to Catastrophic Events: The First Crucial Hour
Category: School Environment
Time: Saturday, March 10, 11:00am-12:30pm
Room: 6 & 7
What a school does in the first crucial hour of a catastrophic event will help determine the number of lives lost, the length of time it will take to return to normal functioning, and how many lawsuits a district is likely to face. This session will focus on what to put in place ahead of time, how to respond at the time of catastrophe, and how to handle media relations in major events. Participants will leave this session empowered to review their own plans and checklists and find areas for improvement.
