315. Teacher Evaluation Through Rubrics and Professional Growth

Category: Assessment & Accountability
Time: Monday, March 12, 9:30am-11:00am
Room: Rooms 11 & 12

Do you know what teachers should be able to do? Can you objectively determine how well teachers are performing their responsibilities? Administrators can communicate clear expectations of exemplary practice through a systematic framework. This session will provide recipients with a yearly schedule and description of activities for staff evaluation. The framework uses rubrics to identify various teacher standards. Professional growth activities provide alternatives to motivate teachers that result in improved student learning, performance, staff collaboration, and creativity. Through this framework, administrators can transform a meaningless function into a powerful process, stimulating teachers to think about and reach for exemplary models.
