272. Problem-Solving Seminars: An Innovative Approach to Middle Level Mathematics

Problem-solving seminars have proven to be an effective way to improve students’ math skills. Attendees will learn about one middle level program that enables students to develop problem-solving skills in a small group setting at minimal cost to the district. Participants will also receive copies of the proposal that led to a $90,000 grant from the New York State Education Department to continue and expand the program during the 2001-2002 school year.
