227. Effective Middle Level Principals and Teacher Teams Implement Four Components for Meaningful, Continuous School Improvement

Middle Level Session

Category: Leadership/Governance
Time: Sunday, March 3, 11:00am-12:30pm
Room: Rooms 308 & 309

Mandated processes for school improvement can become busywork resented by staff members and insignificant to student success. For five years, the Middle Level Leadership Center has helped principals and leadership teams establish effective practices for continuous school improvement. Blending the components of transformational leadership, collaborative culture, comprehensive/systemic change, and Turning Points 2000 recommendations is a challenging task. The presenters will discuss each component and share processes that schools have used to foster continuous school improvement.
