Bernards High School has been recognized as a State and National Service-Learning Leader School for its unique program of service learning that integrates service into the curriculum through an annual service requirement. Participants will learn about and come away with a model for designing, implementing, and coordinating service learning at the secondary level, with specific emphasis on the integration of service into the academic curriculum and cocurricular programs. They will also take home strategies for engaging students, gaining staff support, promoting civic responsibility, and strengthening communities.
