123. What Do Today's Successful School Leaders Need to Know and Be Able to Do? And How Can We Prepare and Develop Effective School Leaders?

Category: Assessment & Accountability
Time: Saturday, March 2, 1:00pm-2:30pm
Room: Room 217

In the era of high-stakes accountability, our recruitment, preparation, and professional development programs for educational leaders are out of sync with our scaled-up expectations. The Southern Regional Education Board has embarked on a project to prepare current educational leaders and create a supply of aspiring educational leaders who can contribute significantly to school improvement and increased student achievement during these times of greater accountability and higher standards. This session is designed to share research and success stories. Participants will leave with ideas for implementation in their own environment.

Presenter(s) for this Session:

Kathleen O'Neill
Director
Leadership Initiative, Southern Regional Education Board
Atlanta, GA
