Examine new directions for high school career and technical education in the 21st Century as viewed by business persons, principals and other educators, business and education associations, and policymakers. This session is an outgrowth of a year-long study that included extensive interviewing, focus groups, and review of contemporary reports advocating a new vision for career and technical education at the high school level. The presenter will discuss such reform components as high school majors, contextual teaching and learning, work-based learning, authentic assessment, career academies, and tech prep.
