Learn how a large, multicultural urban district designed an intensive skill-building summer school program to meet the needs of failing and/or struggling students in middle schools. This program was created to address the developmental and academic concerns of adolescents with a focus on closing the achievement gap. The presenters will review the development of the program, its overall organizational framework, and its curriculum components.
